Practitioners @ The Loft
Dr. Michelle Golland – Psychologist
Dr. Michelle is the founder and resident Clinical Psychologist at The Loft. She has invited other expert clinicians in their fields to join her at The Loft to make the practice a well-rounded environment of health and wellness.
Dr. Michelle Golland is the Clinical Psychologist the media turns to when they need an expert’s opinion on psychological issues related to anything in popular culture and current events. She can be seen on such shows as Felt (LOGO), Shahs of Sunset (Bravo), and other national network television news and current event programming: Good Morning America (ABC), The Today Show (NBC), Larry King Live, Piers Morgan Live (CNN), Prime News, Jane Valez-Mitchell, The Nancy Grace Show (HLN), The O’Reilly Factor (Fox News), and MSNBC. She is also a regular on HLN’s Dr. Drew On Call, and frequently appears on My Fox LA.
She is passionate and believes that psychological issues are also political ones. Dr. Michelle does not believe in mincing words but in being clear and direct with the media and with her clients. Her direct approach and honesty has earned her the respect of the media and she has earned the reputation of speaking her mind as well as standing up for those who are, because of their situations, silent. She is an advocate for those who have been bullied, sexually abused and left ignored by society.
Her private practice at The Loft @ Larchmont Village in Los Angeles, California focuses on issues relating to adults, couples and families. She also serves as a parenting expert and advocate to families. She is currently serving on the board of PAVE, an organization whose mission is to shatter the silence surrounding sexual abuse.
Dr. Michelle’s education featured an emphasis in multi-cultural and community-based psychology and she sees her role in the media and in her private practice as an advocate for the underserved and as an educator regarding all issues related to mental health and emotional well-being. She is a proud USC Trojan who grew up in Southern California. Dr. Michelle has been married for more than eighteen years and has two children.
Jessica is a certified 200-hour Yoga and Yoga Tune Up ®Instructor in Los Angeles with a passion for guiding people forward in their practice. She uses her expertise to put together classes that are mindful and fun while still providing a challenge. Her intimate knowledge of both anatomy and asana (postures) allows her to meet her students wherever they are in their practice and modify to their specific physical abilities. Her current schedule includes a diverse clientele with classes at CrossFit (yoga geared towards athletes), Paramount and Disney studios (corporate wellness with an emphasis on hips and shoulders as participants tend to spend long hours sitting at computers).
There is no reason to live life in pain and for some reason we have accepted this as normal – my goal is to help you uncover your “new normal” through yoga and meditation.
